Tuskegee Airmen movie “Red Tails” a hard sell in Hollywood
It took George Lucas 23 years to get 'Red Tails' — the story of the Tuskegee Airmen, the first all black aerial combat unit during World War II — produced and in theaters. The film, which Lucas calls his passion project, included

The gist of it: The film was overtly lacking in overt emotion (I wanted to use 'overt' three times in a sentence … I did it), which made for a remarkably realistic and enjoyable adventure flick that wasn't as racially charged as you might have guessed
And recently, Lucasfilms and Walmart celebrated the release of Red Tails on the campus of Tuskegee University (as they have been doing all week) with the cast of the film, Tom Joyner and Lionel Richie. Check it above.
FRIDAY 4 PM: It's another good start for 2012 domestic box office complete with surprises. Hollywood studios were stunned by how well the George Lucas ban.
