A spokesman for Comedy Central said only that "unforeseen circumstances" had required "The Colbert Report" to cancel new episodes that were supposed to be taped on Wednesday and Thursday.

Last night, Comedy Central aired a rerun of The Colbert Report and fans who hoped to see a taping of the show were told that the taping was canceled because of unforseen reasons. A rerun is scheduled to air tonight, as well.
