Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ), who was shot in the head a year ago at a district event, announced in a video posted on YouTube Sunday that she will resign from Congress this week, in order to focus on her medical recovery.

Gabrielle Giffords survived a gunshot wound to the head was so wondrous, so astounding, so miraculous, that it made us believe that another miracle wasn't out of the question. That not only could she survive but that she could come all the way back.
